Winter snow cripples Portland Oregon for christmas 2008

Winter snow has slowed life down a great deal around Portland. Spirits are bright though. A new feeling is in the air, albeit crisp air.

It becomes impossible to hand excavate through frozen ground. So, it’s time to relax. Enjoy the moment. “Don’t worry about a thing, everything is gonna be alright”, Bob Marley and Wailers. It feels nice to have a few days off. Rotten weather for working, but nice weather for a picturesque holiday feeling.

Watch out when all the snow melts however. Flooding and standing water on still semi-frozen ground is a bad combination for home drainage health.

It helps if hand excavated french drains are installed prior to vent that snow water from the roof.
