Rain drain discharges that vent roof water properly

Friday, November 30th, 2007

One of the most common drainage problems that I encounter throughout the year is poor rain drain discharges and gutter systems running water into crawlspaces or basements. The homes built before the 1970’s-80’s seldom have adequate rain drain discharge systems connected to the gutters to vent the roof water. To make matters even worse the homes seldom had french drains installed. Many of these homes have suffered with poor drainage for decades as a result. (more…)

Dry basement or crawlspace is a great christmas present

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Give yourself a great present this year for christmas. French drains. What do you think? No water in your basement or crawlspace is a very practical present with real value. Wouldn’t you agree? Too practical? Lacks soul? You would rather go to the Hawaiian Islands? I don’t think so. I can’t believe that. The warm feeling that comes over a person cozy in the knowledge that their home is being protected from flooding rainwater is a great present for anyone. It is timeless.

A french drain makes a wonderful present to give to a spouse or signigicant other as well, or that child with the bedroom in the basement that always gets wet when it rains hard or when the snow melts in the spring.

O.K. maybe that’s a stretch, huh? You don’t feel the love there?
